Mission Statement
It is the mission of Troop 25, Three Rivers District of the Northern New Jersey Council, BSA, sponsored by Saint Vincent De Paul Roman Catholic Church, Bayonne, New Jersey, to provide a quality program for all eligible youth in its diverse service community so that in the future its members will be prepared to make ethical decisions throughout their lifetimes based upon the values contained in the Scout Oath and Law.
In 1935, Father Henry Mackin started Boy Scouts for Bayonne Roman Catholic Parishes at St.Vincent DePaul Church. Mackin Society members continue Father Mackin’s legacy by paying dues annually so today’s Boy Scouts have opportunity to participate in High Adventure. - Christmas Wreath Coordinator
Troop has been holding an annual Christmas Wreath Sale fundraiser since 1997. This fundraiser promotes itself, in that once you establish a list of customers, each year your customers look forward to being asked again. Work hard to build a large list of customers and each year they will say yes with a smile since you will deliver the finished wreath to them.
Parents/Scouts take wreath orders from family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers along with deposit or payment. A couple parents visit a craft warehouse and purchase all the decorations. Wreaths are ordered and picked up Saturday after Thanksgiving, parents make wreaths on that day, and take them for distribution to their customers.
Sales are prorated to each participating boy's troop account to supplement High Adventure expense. This provides each Scout the opportunity to be able to participate in a once in a life-time adventure.
Honoree: TBD
Invitation --- Reservation --- Journal
Jenna Egan - Dinner Dance Chair
To supplement an extensive outdoor experience for your son takes much funding. We hold an annual (black tie optional) dinner dance with recognition of a community leader who supports youth activities, a program journal, gift basket drawing, program video, and fantastic cocktail hour/dinner. Music gets everyone on the dance floor and the troop family/friends makes for a great time.
The dinner dance involves much parent and community leaders participation in promoting ticket sales and journal ads as well as planning and organizing the event.
Jan Patrick Egan - Troop Coordinator
Scouts pay a weekly dues to instill responsibility and support their program. Adults can support the troop as a member of the Mackin Society with an annual contribution of at least $100. Adult Scouters and parents continue to pay their dues to help the Scouts' program. In addition to paying dues, Mackin Society members are encouraged to recruit adults to pay their dues to help our Scouts.
Mackin Society holds an annual brunch to recognize new members, take care of society business, and select a honoree for the annual troop dinner dance. Members also support dinner dance committees.
